All this cabin fever that has been building up during Snowpocalypse 2011 (not to mention all the travel documentaries available on Netflix) has got me thinking: I need more adventure. I want to be able to slow down and reconnect with the state I call home. So the wife and I decided, in preparation for our Appalachian Mountain Trail adventure (in the not so distant future), that we would backpack Historic Route 66 from Tulsa to OKC. Now, I have put together what I think to be a pretty solid trail map via Google Maps. We just need to set the date and we are off. We will most definitely chronicle our journey (inspired by documentary 180° South) and hopefully this will be the first of many cross country excursions to come.
Interested in joining in on the trip? Feel free to contact me (though please note contact does not guarantee you will be granted access to this adventure, but I'd say your chances of joining are above 50%).
